attachment checker for your mail client

this happens very often with me…
i write a long mail, discussing about the data in the attached file; and forget attaching the file with the mail.
then after sometime, some nice guy politely replys back[to all] saying… “Hey Kapil, I think you forgot to send the attachment with your mail. Please resend [this time, with the attachment].”
many a times, i have been to the other side of the fence.
i think that there should be some kind of an “attachment checker” provided with the mail clients, that would simply parse the contents of the mail and check for certain words[eg. attached, attachment, PFA etc etc] in the body of the mail. in case any of these hot words is present and there is no attachment, the “attachment checker” would simply request the user for a confirmation to send the message without the attachment.
thunderbird is my favourite mail client. and it can be easily extended. i’ll write an “attachment checker” for thunderbird soon.
any suggestions/ideas/help is more than welcome.
