2nd Collective/Demo – UI basics
Just when the Web Analytics collective was about the finish, I again got an SMS from BCB5 which read: “Collectives that just started: starting UI Design Basics in L21, D4, social teach, L12-kickstarting blogging”
I immediately knew where I had to rush to. L21: Cappuccino.
The discussion had already started by the time I figured out where the room was (though it was bang opposite L22, where I previously was). Anyhow, I made myself comfortable in the front row.
Ashish, who works for a startup – CityFind from Yulop, was leading the discussion and was explaining about different types of colors and techniques.
One thing that I really liked about the attitude in the session was that it was never necessary for Ashish to keep standing and keep talking at the podium. He could easily leave the room to take phone call and someone would automatically standup and start leading.
The overall discussion had to cover the following topics:
1. Colors
2. Overall Layout (Whitespace etc)
3. Usability
Learning about colors and site layout was really helpful and interesting.
The one I was most interested in was usability, unfortunately that would happen post lunch now. Will keep you posted for sure.
