Search on Google, Yahoo and MSN and make money
Now you can contribute towards making the search results better by voting and commenting on individual results. And…. make money as well.
A new social search site Scour.com,has recently launched a beta search engine that aggregates results from Yahoo, Google, and MSN on one page, displays reviews and feedback from other Scour members about those results, and rewards you with points that you can trade in for a Visa gift card.
Scour has payouts for every 6500 ($25), 12500($50) & 25000($100) points that you accumulate searching, voting or referring friends.
They also display a calculator for your potential earnings on your accounts page.
An average of 3 searches a day and a total of 100 friends refered could get you ~$450 per year.
Not just the way to gain attention, the idea and the utility of the social search engine is also amazing.
They can easily make people register (ie. create an account) before searching by offering monetary incentives and later use their user base to help them improve what Google or Yahoo or MSN has to offer.
Not just this, a registered search user base can also help in building, the much talked about, context based search engine.
I dont know what algorithm is used to rank results among the various search engines but I seems quite up to the mark.
