Google turns on AdSense for Feeds and Video Units

Video Units are a mashup with YouTube. Adsense user gets to select a YouTube format and customize it to the advertising site’s color theme. The category of videos to be displayed are also customizable though a user can not choose a specific video to be displayed. AdSense for Content units are displayed over the video when it is being played.  Larger formats also display Ads upfront without having to playback the video.

Interestingly this is being managed on YouTube servers and not on AdSense and hence some analytical features like channles have a limited availability. A new custom channel “Video Units” is automatically created and earnings are reported under the AdSense for Content section.

Following is a sample Video Unit. (Disclaimer: I do not urge you to click on the ads inside this unit. This is solely for demonstration purpose)

Available formats for the Video Units are show in the following image. The above Video Unit is a 500×510 layout.
